The leaves of jiao gu lan (pronouncd gee-ow-goo-lan), a gourd-like plant that grows wild in southern China, have been traditionally used to make medicine, which is used in similar applications as ginseng. A known adaptogen, jiao gu lan helps the body naturally counter internal and external stressors by balancing the immune, nervous, and hormonal systems.
Jiao ju lan is also an antioxidant that helps reduce the effects of free radicals in the body, and in some cases, provides potential anti-aging benefit. Other known benefits include:

Brewing Recommendation:
1. bring 8 oz. water to a boil
2. Add steaming (195 degree F) water to 1 tbsp. of tea
3. Allow elixir to steep 1 minute.
Each tbsp. of tea may be used for multiple infusions.
